Dead end
Luis Penafiel is a writer who has just finished a novel that presents the perfect crime in a closed room. He has achieved the respect and admiration of his fellow writers because of the surprising and dramatic resolution of his story. But one night, another writer is killed following the same pattern in Penafiel’s story, so naturally he is accused of the crime. To prove his innocence, he must find the real killer, and in the process, he discovers that nothing is more confusing than what is staring you right in the face. Shot in stunning black-and-white, the film is an eerie throwback to murder mysteries and film noir of the 1930s and ’40s.
